Mark Eager conducts in FNQ

Mark Eager, who is Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Welsh Sinfonia and a Trinity College London Senior Examiner, has since 2012, made an annual visit to Cairns to conduct the Cairns Winter Music School.

CWMS2015_FinalSueMark (00000003)This adult orchestral workshop gives the opportunity for experienced orchestral musicians, instrumental teachers and tertiary students to come together to work with professional section leaders, a top soloist and of course to gain from Mark’s extensive knowledge of the repertoire.

Every course concludes with a Finale concert which demonstrates the very high standard of playing that is achievable in a 4 day period. Musicians from Cairns and across Australia look forward to taking part in this exciting annual event.

The Director and Founder of the Cairns Winter Music School is the Trinity Music representative for Cairns – Sue Stitt.
The 5th Cairns Winter Music School in 2016 will take place 4-7 July, and will feature cellist Louise King playing the Elgar Cello Concerto.

Any musicians interested in finding out more about the 2016 CWMS are welcome to contact Sue: sue_stitt@bigpond.com
