Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

With the health and safety of all Trinity candidates, examiners and staff being of paramount importance to us, due to the increasing spread of COVID-19 we have taken the decision to suspend all exams and awards with immediate effect, with the exception of our Secure English Language Tests (SELT).

Trinity is committed to supporting the hard work of candidates and teachers around the world. We know the amount of time and effort involved in preparing for our assessments, and how disappointing it will be to have to postpone exams. We are therefore working on a number of new initiatives that will enable candidates with pre-existing bookings for certain examinations to submit work digitally during this difficult period. Please continue to refer to this website and to your local Trinity exam centre for updates over the coming days.

We will continue to monitor all local and international Government advice and will resume face-to-face examinations as soon as it is safe to do so.

Affected exams and awards include:

Certificate for Music Educators (CME)
Graded Music Exams
Music Diplomas
Music Tracks

Information for May/June exams

In light of the extraordinary circumstances due to Coronavirus, we’re delighted to announce that we will shortly be launching a digital assessment alternative for Classical, Jazz, Rock & Pop and Speech and Drama exams (grades – Initial to 8). This submission-based alternative will enable candidates with pre-existing exam bookings to upload a video of their performance pieces.

Our examiner panel will assess the performance pieces of the graded exam and subsequently issue the candidate with a mark and comments, just as they would normally receive in a graded exam. When schools and centres re-open, candidates will be able to complete their qualification by taking their technical tests in a short, live exam. They will then be awarded their full exam qualification and hard copy certificate.

We’ll be sending more information to you very soon, including syllabus information, details on how to upload video performances, options for taking the remaining parts of the graded exam and relevant booking details. In the meantime, please do distribute this information to your teachers, parents and candidates with pre-existing bookings.

We are committed to providing the most relevant, accessible and convenient assessment options for our candidates and welcome the opportunity to launch this exciting new solution.

Please note, this is a temporary arrangement for candidates with existing bookings and details of additional, digital assessment opportunities will follow shortly.

Information for refunds and changes to May/June exam bookings

Trinity is offering a digital assessment alternative in light of the COVID-19 situation (see information above). Alternatively, you may elect to change your exam session to later in the year, request a re-entry voucher (valid for 12 months), or request a full refund of May/June exam fees.

We will do our best to process refunds as quickly as we can. However, due to these exceptional circumstances we are unable to guarantee turnaround times.

Please submit one of the following forms if you would like to take up this option instead:
